Update on H1N1 Virus - As promised, I am pleased to have the opportunity to provide another update on CUNY's efforts to protect the University community from the spread of H1N1. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), most cases of H1N1 have been mild and have not required medical care. Nevertheless, CUNY encourages campuses to remain vigilant in combating the spread of influenza, and will update the CUNY community regarding H1N1 developments. Oct 30, 2009

Vilsaint Propels York to Third Straight CUNYAC Final - York College men’s soccer standout Elysee Vilsaint (Port-au-Prince, Haiti/ South Shore) scored a pair of goals to lead the Cardinals to a 2-0 win over Medgar Evers College Saturday afternoon in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) men’s soccer semifinals. York Defeats John Jay, 1-0, to Clinch CUNYAC Regular Season Title - The York College men’s soccer team defeated John Jay College, 1-0, in the final CUNY Athletic Conference contest of the 2009 regular season Wednesday. The win, coupled with a Baruch loss to City Tech in overtime, gives the Cardinals the 2009 CUNYAC regular season title. York came into the day trailing Baruch by 2 points but moved ahead with the win. York finishes with 21 points to Baruch’s 20. Oct 22, 2009

Dr. Bonnie Oglensky, Associate Professor, joined the Social Sciences faculty at York College of the City University of New York in 2004. She teaches the senior field seminar and social welfare policy. She serves as Director of Field Education for the Social Work Program and has pursued a multi-faceted research agenda focused on professional socialization. Her current work includes investigation and cross disciplinary expansion of a cutting edge pedagogy of record-writing which she developed with (former) CUNY Writing Fellow, Jennifer Worth. Dr. Oglensky has co-authored the book, The Part-Time Paradox (with C.F. Epstein, C. Seron, and R. Saute, Routledge, 1999), and is known in the field of organizational behavior for her articles on mentorship that integrate psychoanalytic and sociological perspectives.
